Lima day 2

Today we took the bus to downtown Lima. We started with the goal of seeing many beautiful museums, government building, and churches. We ended up searching for hours for a hat and camping fuel, and getting a fairly inexpensive lunch. Marcela was tasked with asking roughly 50 people where the hell we could find a camping store.. We were directed here, there, back, toward, around, up, under, through, you get the point. We found about 1000 stores in a row selling trophies, soccer balls, and cleats, but no camping fuel... But we did find this hat:

Thanks to the $16 bottle sunscreen and this hat, I can go outside without being afraid.

Tonight we plan on getting dinner and trying to find a pool hall with cheap beer. Tomorrow we need to wake up on the early side so we can get to the bus terminal early enough to get a ticket to Paracas. Paracas is a town south of Lima, and just south of Pisco that is famous for having exceptional marine bird viewing. My friend Brendan would be jealous. (www.wingtrip.com)
Our hostel situation in Paracas looks like it will be half the cost of staying in Lima, which I have come to find a little boring and expensive. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the city, seeing some natural beauty, and meeting fellow travelers!
